Took the image of the mannequin bent over like he was reaching for the bench
Rendered the bench out in Maya using three lights. Main light on right of image, fill light on left and back light to match the photograph
Using the Alpha channel created in Maya as the base mask I painted in the area where the hand goes over the bench
Shadows were rendered out in Maya
I used in inverted version of the bench mask for the base shadow mask and painted out the other areas I didn't want
The shadows were applied with a multiply filter

Process
Took image of the door
Took the image of the mannequin against a green backdrop
outside in front of the door so the lighting was the same
Keyed off the green to get the initial mask for the mannequin
Cleaned up the mask in photoshop using a paintbrush
Corrected the color of the mannequin using curves
Created the shadows by painting them in and applying a multiply filter
Blurred the shadows to soften the edges
After Critique: extended shadows to match more like the buckets shadow

Process
I had the image of Nellie from my old job.
I created the mask in Photoshop using a variety of tools. The basic mask was created by applying curves to one of the color channels.
It was then cleaned up using the pen and paintbrush tools.
The office space was created in Maya and rendered out
using Mental Ray and GI (This took the most time trying
to get the parameters just right for the ray tracing)
The Shadow was created off of Nellie's mask. From there I hand painted in the shadows for the desk and then applied with a multiply filter
After Critique: I took the image of Nellie and flipped
it upside down and turned down the opacity in order to simulate
the reflections on the floor.
